Communication with the Universe
This satellite antenna stands in South-Bavaria, near the Alps with 18 other big antennas for communication.
Mirror-diameter of each is 32 meters!
Originally built for Olympic Games in Munich 1972.
At this evening in June 2005 I had luck, because a plane had the correct route. :)
With Photoshop, I only correct the Levels and the Colour-Balance.

A shot taken at the right moment. The colours make the picture appear as if it was taken on another planet. Nice effect.

Congratulations with ''Ukens fotograf'' Sigun. Looking thru your map is mere joy, and takes a LONG time for me :) I'm a beginner, and looking at your work is pure inspiration!
I still put out my cheek and confess that removing the stripe between the satellit and the ''foot'' of it, would have made the impression of communication even stronger for me.

Dette ble kult! Fine varme farver og fin komposisjon. Ser ut som det er hentet ut fra science fiction film!

First, let me congratulate you on becoming photographer of the week! You sure deserved it :)

Secondly, thank you for your comment on my profile!

And last, but not least, I love this picture! My jaw dropped to about an inch from the floor when I saw it. Truely astounding! Although.. I'm gonna have to agree with Ann Westlie about the little cloud-stripe. It might add an extra little something if it was taken away, but.. it's not really necessary - it already looks great.

Can't wait to see what inspirational pieces you will show us next!

And you are right, the stripe between the satellit and the ''foot'' is a little incommoding, I didnt see it,.... :))
Ha fortsatt en fin dag! (I hope the grammar is right!)

Lovely! I like seeing that I'm not the only one photographing antennas ;-)

This looks like an airbrushed illustration from a sci-fi novel, great capture!

The reflected sunshine in the base together with the sun peering over the edge of the dish create an incredible centre of attraction, lifting the picture far above the ordinary.

You say that you corrected the colour balance -- does that mean the sky had a completely different colour, or are you talking about small adjustments?
