Theme is absolute good - and I like this more playful approach a lot.
Agree with your chinese method ( self-critism ) about the background, and somehow also the utsnitt.
Due to the details on this side of the board a lot of attention - without delivering something essential in information, is also kept there - one idea would be to use of course the shape of the board - but to turn around.
One other point - question of taste for sure - but the heavy black frame has a shrinking effect on the image - really heavy, forcing a compression of perception, again too much in my view.
Still - I like the theme, the idea and also this pose - that's kind of fresh and not so much of the tragic playboy style.
