ok - this might sound like Mr. Pappa Nice - but in a way it is the first reaction.
I think it is splendid that you obviously enjoy this - taking images, waiting, trying until you really have the splash - this is a success, and it is fun to get the things done you had in mind.
And yes, rain has something attractive - also for photos, the changes water does on all kind of surfaces, surroundings etc. - things do change when it rains.
Since there are really almost no rules saying what are good, better or perfect photos are all about - it very much up to everyone to define own standarts etc.
For me - as someone who is simply looking at your image - not having this special moment of satisfaction coming along with the photo like you said about yourself - for me as a viewer there are some things I'm looking for.
These are different points for everyone - and so these are not general lines - for me this image would have a hard time without your text - thats ok, but just said. Because the image does not explain what kind of slash this is - small, big, heavy etc.
Next - the image is a bit grey - more contrast to use something closer to the full spectrum of S/H would make it more attractive.
And the last thing is - always helping when images are not very clear during the first seconds - something easy to identify, which often means - something sharp.
Sharpness is something to use - or not - but it often makes images more attractive when at least partially used.
Now - as said before - I really believe it is brilliant to actually enjoy taking images, trying, testing - and not always succeeding - and so this is not supposed to be negative.
But what in the best case happens here at Foto. no I sthat others tell you how they see your images - and how they would have loved to see them.
Therefore I seriously believe that it makes sense to look around, see as many as possible images - and leaves comments when you see something you like - or the opposite.
There are many water-drops here around, many good ideas etc. - in Bildegalleriet every comment is welcome - and wanted - same as most images.
This idea of yours I like - I think the result is a good start - and there are many more ideas to work with when it comes to the millions of drops every rainfall brings.
Looks like a good summer for you so far :)
