This was superb use of composition. It reminds me of those Bond films, James is about to climp up a clips for hours. However, the black spot in the up in the right corner do not belong in the picture. The depth is very good.

I agree with Espen here, the depth og perspective is very well composed, and the colours are very good.
Naturally I liked version 1 best;-)

This is a very good one Judit! Oh yes; I like it :-)

The colours (of course) are wonderful, with the dark blue just as I like it. Also good tones on the rock and building.
Very good composition and a good crop. If I can say a photo rocks, this one does! ;-)

The castle seen from an unusual angle. Seen from this angle, it is obvious why castles like this on was built, - in order to keep intruders away. As such, the picture serves its purpose.
However, as a picture ofg Edinburgh Castle, I think it is a bit too anonimous.
Chr. G.

Good composition, it gives a feeling of diziness and fear of the height/mountain falling over me.

The subject would have deserved a larger image. As you also indicate there is a black spot in upper right on both pictures, and the blue color seems a bit uneven in this area. But for some reason I do not think it ruins the picture. It can also give an immpression of a blue planet nearby as it appears spherical.

Version two is a bit too dim to my taste thus I prefer v1. Looking forward to more!

Thanks for the nice comments!

Espen: I like Sean Connery more than James Bond ;) I have posted the original version for the sake of you :)

Inger Anne: I prefer the first version either :)

Jan Frode: You can say it ... Thank you ;)

Steinulf: Would you like to know the exact co-ordinates? ;)

Chr.: Thanks for sharing your feelings and your useful comment as well :)

Thanks again; I appreciate all nice words very much!

No. 1 is definetly the picture here. I especially like the dramatical perspective and the high colour saturation. No. 2 - the original have bit too less contrast, and therefore looks to ''gray'' for my taste. Edinburgh is a nice town with both it's combination of classical old and new, more modern kinds of townscapes.

Thank you, Tommy, for your nice comment. I do agree with your opinion. Edinburgh is a very beautiful city with its own special atmosphere what you described here.

Yes, this is a really nice picture, Judit!
Wonderful colours and great composition!
The special angle makes the castle look like it's a part of, as Espen says, a Bond movie... Nice work!!

Thank you, Sondre! I appreciate your comment very much.

From this angle the castle looks like a fortress any enemy would have problems conquering; I have only seen it from Prince`s Street, and haven`t experienced a view from your position here. Colour of sky incredibly blue; and I don`t mind that. I do, however, mind that black area in the upper righthand corner....

Thank you, Fred. It's not a question why the castles were built on top of the hills/mountains in the Middle Ages (or before/after); to protect people from the actual enemy (British, French, Spanish, German, Portugal, Turkish, Austrian, Hungarian, Russian, Danish? ;), Swedish? ;) and so on) with more or less success.

This part is the opposite side of that what you saw 4 or 5 years ago ;)

I really like the perspective and the composition with the diagonal lines.

The only thing I would have tried to fix are the are in the upper righthand corner - as Fred S. already mentioned. It's nice when it fades to a deeper blue, but right now it looks a little 'fake', so I would have used the clone tool first and then tried to fade it a little with Curves.
