Personally, I can't say I know Seraut, but I know you, and I know this is a funky and creative hommage. Very well carried out. The colors are reminiscent of the impressionists, and the points you have used, emphasize that aspect of it.

Personally I find the use of filters this way uninspiring. Very often it is applied to pictures that otherwise falls through the author's own quality test. Some people have worked thoroughly and in my mind successfully with painting techniques, see ie. this one:bilde nr. 86640

I like the composition here with the curved shoreline.
However, pointillism reminds me too much of the color noise that I have encountered in pictures taken in wintertime under poor lighting conditions to make me excited in a positive sense.
Maybe I am very traditional and narrowminded, but I am not ready for this style per today.

Judy; the Pointillist ? Think I know Seurat faintly; isn`t he the one with a family picnicing on the sloping, grassy bank of a river ? I`ve never fancied this style of painting, though, but I must admit your picture ''recreates'' this technique in an impressive manner. So the next time someone says that there is too much noise in one my pictures, I will answer; -it`s not noise, it`s pointillism !

Steinulf: One of the most exciting parts of my life is that I am not perfect at all, so I have a very good goal to stay alive and brighten my mind or skills. I do hope I have some extra decades for practicing it. Filter? Oh yes; mind (?) -> camera -> Adobe Photoshop – but there's no ''author's quality test'' filter at all, probably because I am only a simple ''homo ludens''. But still, thank you for spending some seconds with my PHOTO(s) and wasting your time to write unusually long comment about this one. If I were you I wouldn't have done it ...

Odd Tore: Thank you for your good comment as well. The cause of posting my photo is expressing my appreciation of Seurat's works. He created a scientific theory about the system of different coloured points what make new colours looking at them from a right distance. None of the present youngsters would fiddle with/on points today (he was only 32 years old when he died). He is not among my favourite painters ...

First of all: I must admit that I`ve never heard of Georges Seurat until you presented him in connection to your picture :-( I`ve visited the second website that you reffered to: (''webMuseum, Paris''). This was very interesting (and insipirational) reading ! I understand why you are so fascinated by his works. The two pictures; ''View of Fort Samson, Grandcamp'' and ''The Lighthouse at Honfleur'' are beautiful and emphasizes the technique you have used in your picture. Very well done !

I like this way of experimenting with technique. You manage to create something new out of this classic theme. By commenting other artists, you also add ''something'' of value to the picture. Many great photographers have made comments to older paintings, often with good results (my personal favorite beeing Jeff Walls ''the Storyteller'' commenting Manet's ''Lunch on the Grass'').
