Nice sorroundings(?) and the car is nice too. I like that you have so many details in one picture, many are afraid of just that. However, I think that the car and the old houses don't match eachother so good. Maybe an old car would do this pic better? I would like to hear your own opinion of this photo! :)

I was hesitating a lot before I posted this picture here. Should I come out with this one as a first photo of mine about Norway at fotoDOTno? Will it be judging about the country what I really do not want to do? Will I be misunderstood again? Is it a provocation? No – this photo is for expressing my thoughts what flashed across my mind when I was walking in a poor district of Ålesund, not too far from the beautiful downtown.

– contrast between the car and the house ...
– contrast between the clichés and the reality in some parts of the country ...
– contrast between being the richest country in the world and still having houses in these conditions ...

These were my first thoughts when I saw this sorry sight. Some minutes later the owner of the car came out the house. He probably lives there ... Is he a poor man with a not bad, almost a brand-new car? What is more important; having a good car or living in a nice house?

I will post 'nicer' pictures about this beautiful town, hopefully in the very next future.

Thank you Espen for asking my opinion :) And also thanks for writing your thoughts.

Yes! I see, a very good respond that, Judit. I understand how you thought when you took this picture. So the photo gives me other opinions.

Hi Judit.

When I first saw this picture I thought; is this just a test of her new(?) camera.....
or is it maybe one of many pictures from a roadtrip, maybe with her new car,

*smiling* this was just some of my reflections about this picture,

I must say I liked your philosophy better; your thoughts about whether/why/what is the real story, in this ''setting'',

I think we all can analyze this picture in different directions, to what may be the real situation here.

I must admit that I liked your picture, a bit more, after I read what your reflections were about this setting.

'Contrasts'' would also be a fitting title to this picture, the new CR-V against the worn and not well maintained building. At least this was my first reflection when I saw your picture.
I like the idea, but should wish that the owner of the car had chosen a somewhat more sparkling color just for your picture. As it is now, the roof of the car blends too much into the background, and the contrast looses some punch in this area.

Thank you Inger Anne and Odd Tore for your thoughts and constructive critics :) As you see, Odd Tore, I have changed the title by your suggestion :) I like your version very much.

The original title ''... somewhere between ...'' means that the truth is always somewhere between :)

Hello Judith

Really like this shot. It gives a really good contrast as the title says. I do not think, like Espen, you should have used an old car. Then the contrast wouldn't be any good.

Thank you Andreas! I do respect all of your opinions :)

Not a wallpaper type shot, but I know that it wasn't your intention with this picture either.

I understand the idea behind it and especially after I read what you wrote about it, so the idea was defenitely good. As Odd Tore S. I would also have liked to see a more contrasty and punchy color here - a red and brand new little mini morris or similar would really have made this shot happen, but it's not to often we are that lucky when we are walking around with our camera in our hand :)

Thanks Daniel :) You're right, a red brand-new Mini Morris would have been much better ;)

Hi =)
Nice pic, good contrasts, great shoot! if the mini morris have stood there, the pic have been a 10 point ;)

Thank you Thomas for your kind words! Shall I buy a red Mini Morris for having 10 points? ;)
