You have left a lot of sky in there, but it is not powerful enough. This is what I would do in photoshop (takes only two minutes):
- open your photo
- duplicate layer
- change the blending mode from ''normal'' to ''multiply''
- make a mask (bottom of the layer window, the small icon with a square and in the middle a circle)
- select the gradient tool from all the tools (it is with the paint bucket)
- make sure the color selected is black
- click on the layer mask (just to select it)
- draw your transition
- when satisfied, flatten and save.
