Seeing through creative photography

The course is suitable to anyone who is interested in creative photography and wishes to enrich the theoretical and critical knowledge of the medium, in order to develop their own point of view and personal portfolio. An advanced prior technical knowledge of photography is not required for this course.

Applying a methodology which is based on synthesis and analysis, we will examine the relation that photography has with itself, as well as with other forms of visual arts. We will achieve that through visual and reading materials where we will explore important movements and current notions in photography as visual art.

The seminars adopt an approach of re-reading the history of photography and juxtaposing other forms of visual arts. This will allow participants to develop their own critical gaze that will assist them in understanding why one photo is better than another and eventually help them to make a visual sense of the world around them.

The course will be in English every Thursday from 19:00-21:00 starting in November.
