Veldig bra bilde. Men se på personen til venstre, fluer i ansiktet, ja inn på auget og alikevel så smilande og glad. Blir kjekt å sjå fleire bilder frå den kanten av verden..)

wonderful colour, tone in this image - not to mention this very touching, close faces.
Bit unsure if these are boys, girls ? Kind of interesting - since not familiar with the ''codes'' of dressing, necklaces etc. - I simply don't know :)
Anyhow - as a candid portrait it works very well, it seems, appears very natural.
As a photo it has some minor problems with missing sharpness, specially in the face to the right ( compared with the colourful patterns to the left )
Background blur works great - the sky is what it is - in this case not very much - which might could have been avoided by using a filter ?
I guess that the harsh shadow could disturb the perception of some people - while I think it adds to the image - it tells something about the light, direction of the light - and so about the time of the day etc.
Harsh - but also interesting since it gives the touch of natural, none staged.
All in all - a wonderful, warm, personal photo - with just a fantastic charm.

Wow, one better than other :-) IMHO the photo would be better without the shade on the girl's face, sharpness is fine and all over color balance just wonderful.. a great poster would not it be for the shade :)

georg> the ''codes'' of dressing are very interesting, its a long story with no space for it here, but in short - every colour of a necklace is belived to have a special meaning (as everything in samburu's life). red colour protects against the souls of death people, blue is like sky and brings fertility, black is colour of shade and is supposed to protect a person from illness.. and one ''funny'' thing - the beads which are used for the neklaces are comming from Czech Republic (central europe), a city called Jablonec :-)

Thank you so much for comments, next time i will try to remember the lighting, not so easy when you are allready so exited with all the smell, colors, sounds and so on. :-)

Ingrid, its allways my pleasure to comment your photos ;-) IMHO its just practice, soon you will not even think about that someone has a shade on his face, it will be automatic to find the right moment.. :-)

Georg, before of the import of the beads, they used what they had - wood, animal teeth, seeds.. I've visited this part of Kenya and studied a little bit before I went, so all the knowledge comes from clever books and local experience :-) its a fantastic place..
